the german girl

Armando Lucas Correa

“I learned that, to survive, it was best to live in the present. On this island, there was no past or future. Your destiny was today.” If you know me, you know I love me a good historical fiction book. This story follows a young girl on her journey to escape Germany during the beginning of World War II. As she journey's to Cuba, she is faced with a multitude of obstacles that leave her and her family facing difficult choices. I loved all of the relationships in this book, as well as the seamless crossover from the past to present.
