thumbs

September 12, 2017

I held my phone in my hands as I waited for her to respond.  I reread my last message to her, "It was alota fun, kinda surprised me" and felt my brow furrow.  How would she take it?  This wasn't my first rodeo.  In fact, usually by now the girl would've responded with a gushing text filled with small memories or giggles and emojis.  At least a "Me too."  So what was taking her so damn long?  I ran my fingers through my hair as I wondered whether or not she was worth it.  I'm not going to lie, I did have a fun time with her.  She was... different.  In a weird way.  Bubbly and young, somewhat carefree while also being strangely paranoid about random things.  All in all she caught my attention.  I don't know what to do about her yet, but for now I just want her thumbs to start moving, to start formulating a response to my outreach.  Fuck this.  Let me use my thumb first.  *swipes left.  deletes message*
